Description
Crafted by Goh Umanosuke Yoshihiro in Sakai City, Osaka, Japan, this double-beveled Santoku is made from 17 layers of folded Damascus stainless steel, with a core of corrosion-resistant VG10 steel.
It is an exceptionally versatile essential for both professional and home use.The blade undergoes a mirror-polishing treatment, showcasing not only the exquisite Damascus folded pattern but also ensuring a smoother cutting experience during use.
As times have changed, the Gyuto has evolved into the Santoku, characterized by its blade shape resembling a scythe. With a wide range of applications, it is suitable for cutting meat, fish, and vegetables.
Due to its less pointed blade design, the tip is less prone to breakage, enhancing a sense of safety, and it quickly gained popularity in households.
The Santoku typically has a slightly wider blade compared to a Gyuto of the same size, providing more space for your fingers during use and offering ample support for the other hand when slicing. The standard size for a Santoku is 18cm, but occasionally, smaller mini Santoku knives are also available.
