Master blacksmith Honjyouji II was the prized apprentice of the first-generation Honjyouji. Born and raised in Sanjo, a renowned area for traditional hand-forged blades, Honjyouji II grew up surrounded by the art of forging and steel, forming an inseparable bond with iron craftsmanship.
In Showa 59 (1984), he apprenticed under the first-generation master Honjyouji, inheriting the secret techniques of forging. In recent years, he has even taken over the production of the master's late works.
In Heisei 28 (2016), Honjyouji II introduced the "藤" series of Kuro-Uchi Gyuto. This Kissaki Style Gyuto is forged using the traditional three layering technique, with the extremely sharp Blue #2 core steel, sandwiched by softer steel.
The beauty of the Kuro-Uchi "藤" series captivates those who behold it, making it a cherished and irresistible piece to collect.
