Crafted by Goh Umanosuke Yoshihiro in Sakai City, Osaka, Japan, the knife combines Sakai's 600 years of forging tradition with the ancient art of Damascus folding. It features a 45-layer folded Damascus stainless steel, with a corrosion-resistant VG10 core.

The blade is meticulously hammered to create a beautiful Tsuchime (hammered) pattern, which aids in food release during cutting. The blade edge is polished with a bright finish, showcasing the exquisite Damascus folding pattern.

Yoshihiro, a renowned figure in Sakai's blade-making community, hails from a lineage rooted in the blacksmithing traditions that originated from Tanegashima.

Sakai, over time, has become a well-known hub for high-quality kitchen knives, and this Gyuto is a testament to the unique forging techniques of Osaka's Sakai City.

Combining Western-style chef's knives with a Japanese touch, this Gyuto represents a superb blade influenced by Sakai's rich culinary heritage.

How to Maintain Stainless Steel Knives
